Wow, gotta dust this blog off and get it back up and going. We're moving back into Kilmer St on February 2nd! Looking forward to the time we'll get there. Our first two months will be spent in the basement apartment. We'll get a good look at things we like and things we wanna change and hopefully, eventually, some good DIY projects and rennovation blogs will appear. This summer: a garden. I am determined to grow plants that bear fruit and veggies as well as conquering the ever-difficult lavender plants that died on me last time. Photos of it all to come! Below is a picture while everything was in transition and we were still working feverishly to pass an inspection. THIS is the back yard that will soon transform into a garden of eatin'. :)
For now, we're getting ourselves and our "little" dog adjusted back to life in the USA. I gave my gardening hand a try in Africa recently, only to find that I didn't have a green thumb...in a place where plants literally sprout out of walls and floors and window frames, I couldn't make things grow even if I watered them religiously. Ah well. Maybe I'll have better luck in a "semi-arid" climate. The roses and tree I planted before have just taken off, so it's always possible.
This Spring promises new adventures in cooking, running, gardening, and making my house a home. I look forward to it and am excited to get going!
